Right now, this site is a baby. It’s not finished developing, but in time, will flourish into an eminent resource for actors and entertainers (and wannabe actors and entertainers).

Some of the things planned for this site include:

• News, industry and otherwise, along with audition notices.
• Forum, where actors, entertainers, and anyone in the industry can meet, mingle, chat, ask questions and just enjoy themselves.
• Guides, to help aspiring actors and entertainers improve their craft.
• Mini portfolios, where everyone can display some of their pictures and bios to aid in the networking process.

While all of that is under way, you can download the free Actor’s Guide to Creating a Website on a Budget (PDF), which steps you through registering your domain name, setting up your hosting, and tying them both together with a design–all for an initial cost of less than $20 and a few hours of your time.

Some of the resources mentioned in the guide include:

• Namecheap, for domain registration.
• HostGator, for web hosting.
• WordPress, for managing your website’s design and content. (But you don’t actually need to download it.)
